Tuesday’s Tip -Armor Building for the Shoulder
If you are an overhead sport athlete, this is a great tip for you to help protect your shoulders from injury. While I mention Baseball and Swimming, it is beneficial for any overhead sport.
I like to include it in my athletes warmups as prep for their sport. Our typical warmup plan looks like this:
1. Aerobic activity for overall body prep
2. This shoulder exercise
3. Flexibility/Mobility work. This includes stretching, soft tissue work and mobility drills
4. Your specific sports drills.
This allows the athlete to warmup safely and effectively with the intent to be ready to play.
